  If you decide to stay at The Elephant Home please do not skip the village walk. It is so important to understand why The Elephant Home exists and the important work they are doing to help the surrounding communities. My husband and I were deeply moved by our time spent here and it ended up being one of the most memorable experiences in our trip. The food is very good, the staff is very warm and responsive, and you may even get a friendly gecko hanging out in your room! For those negative reviews complaining about no hot water, it literally says there is no hot water on their website so it should not be a surprise. You do need to ask them to turn on the generator in order to charge things, but it was never a problem. The location is great, close to the entrance of Queen Elizabeth National Park and to a small town. In addition to the village walk we also toured a farm and learned about how they grown vanilla, cocoa, and coffee, how they make banana wine and even visited a fish farm. It was very interesting and I highly recommend it!

  Lovely and beautiful place run by very friendly locals. The revenue stays in the local community and they support local projects. We made a community walk to a local farm and learned about how to grow vanilla, coffee, cacao and even fish farming. I can highly recommend this! The food at The Elephant Home is very delicious, they offer different menus every day and the dinner at the campfire is very romantic.

  For this price, our experience was ok. We shared our room with bats and other insects, but the beds and showers were huge. The people were extremely friendly and warm. They cooked for us but the food was simple and a little overpriced for what it was. Tour prices did not comply with the prices announced on the website. The location was very good (only 15 minutes to the entrance gate of QENP and 20 minutes to the channel Kazinga).

  We had a great stay at The elephant home. Its a great place that is created and maintained by the local community. Support the local community by staying here and join there activities. You will not regret it. Also, we had a lovely dinner by the campfire. Thanks and keep up the good work!
